Welcome to the Jurassic racing track!

Meet our main hero – a charming pixelated T-Rex who has a passion for running. However, the stone dessert he lives in is not really jogging-friendly. But that’s the best our planet can offer so far, so we’ll just have to go with what we’ve got. Anyways, our racer does a little dino warm-up, gets to the starting line, and starts running into the distance. The feeling of speed, wind whooshing over his scales, ground springing under his feet… It’s an experience you want to hold on to, even if all that is just a scattering of pixels! So, without even noticing, the T-Rex keeps accelerating, and the landscape he’s passing through keeps getting more and more obstacle-packed… That’s where you come into play! Without you, our dino won’t last long. It’s up to you to guide him out of trouble and into the sunrise of a new era!

How to play

The whole gameplay is pretty self-explanatory – run while you can, race until you drop. And since our dino is quite tireless, the dropping part can only come from a whole lot of obstacles T-Rex Game has to throw your way. So your task is to stay on track while successfully dodging all the hurdles. Let’s delve a little bit deeper into this, and let’s start with the basics.

The controls

  • Hit the spacebar. Your dino will start running automatically. You won’t be able to stop or slow down, so you’ll have to handle the obstacles on the go.
  • There are just two control keys – up arrow and the down arrow.
  • Obstacles on the ground are overcome by jumping (up arrow).
  • The longer your hold the arrow the higher you jump.
  • Flying obstacles are overcome by ducking (down arrow).
  • Once you bump into something, it’s game over, and you’ll have to replay the level.

Seems easy, right? Just wait, there is a catch – your T-Rex will gradually gain speed as he runs. And pretty soon you’ll notice that the pixel Jurassic scenery by your dino windshield is passing a bit too fast. Wow, a lot faster than you can actually hit those buttons! By the time you approach the finish line, it’s all gonna just swish past you like you’re riding a bike rather than controlling a dino. Don’t worry, practice makes perfection! The more you play Dinosaur Game, the better you become at this. Just stock up on plaster for those blisters on your fingers!

Types of obstacles

  1. Cacti. Those pesky prehistoric plants grow all along your path. To survive your dino race, you need to jump over them in the blink of an eye. At first, there will be just solitary cacti, spaced rather generously to give your reflexes enough time to kick in. But the longer you run, the more cacti you will encounter. That space between them will keep shrinking, and sometimes you’ll have to pull a mighty leap over a bunch of cacti at once. Some of them will be smaller, others taller. So make sure to adjust the height of jump accordingly!
  2. Pterodactyls. The objects under your scaled feet are not the only thing you need to beware of. The sky is full of danger too. Take those pterodactyls, for instance. Or giant birds, or whatever kind of prehistoric creatures those are. They will occasionally pass through your trajectory, flying in their own business. But that doesn’t make it any easier for you, cause your T-Rex is tall enough for a painful collision (couldn’t they just come up with some sort of a dactyl highway, away from the land-based migration routes?). Keep focused and watch both the ground and the skies at once. Sometimes you’ll have to dodge right after you leap, and then dodge once again, and leap two more times. It’s all part of the Jurassic challenge!

Maximize your score and set a new record

Now, if you look at the upper right corner, you’ll see an ever increasing count. And the more you run without bumping and colliding, the higher this number gets. That’s your score, and it’s up to you to set today’s record! And we all love records. Right beneath the play screen, you’ll see two columns with statistics. The left one contains slightly smaller yet still impressive numbers – it lists today’s best players. But the right one, oh, the right one commemorates the fastest, nimblest T-Rex racers of all times, and the numbers there are off the charts! Surely, it will take hours of practice and a gazillion of attempts to get there. But it’s worth to see your nickname shine in the Dinosaur Game pantheon, right?

FAQ about Dinosaur Game

  • How many levels are in Dino Runner?

Basically, there is just one endless level that keeps getting trickier and tougher as you progress. The game resets itself every time you hit something. The obstacles are generated randomly, so you won’t come across the same scenery.

  • How many lives does Dino have?

The T-Rex you’re controlling has just one life. Any collision is lethal – even the smallest cactus you step on can send you into extinction. So you’d better watch it!

  • How does T-Rex Game end?

There is no ending as such (because there is no story as such). Your run is simply interrupted once you’re one point short of a full million points, and the level is reset again.

  • What is the highest score in Dinosaur Game?

The highest possible score is 999,999. You can’t go higher, the game will reset itself afterwards.

Let’s have some T-fun!

Dinosaur Game is simple, fun, and just as addicting as everything else about dinos. With its retro pixel charm and gameplay based on pure reflexes, it urges you to run on, leap higher and dodge faster, all for the sake of finally beating that particularly pesky level and working your way to the leaderboards, even if it’s just for one day. So if you wanna give those fingers of yours a real workout, welcome to Dino Runner! Flex your paws, fix your eyes on the track, and let’s run like there’s no next millennium!
